Health and Welfare Statement
Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club expects that all members should be able to enjoy the sport of rowing. The conduct and behaviour of all individuals is fundamental to the ability of the club to operate fairly, appropriately and in the best interests of all its members.
For the enjoyment and safety within the sport of Rowing it is vital that all members are aware of the clubs rules and safety policies.
Parents of juniors are responsible for ensuring that their child has appropriated clothing and equipment for the weather and bright outer clothing, preferably fluorescent. Coaches are responsible to ensure that juniors do not go out on the water without appropriate clothing/equipment. Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club does not have sole use of the lake and some lake users are not aware of the rowing lanes and circulation, therefore all members must be aware that visibility and vigilance is important at all times to prevent collisions.
Juniors will be supervised by a coach when training at the club, if a junior attends a social event outside of training, they must be accompanied by a parent/carer or nominated adult.
Training and competitions take place in public areas therefore members may be photographed by amateurs, or professionals who may sell their photographs or use for publicity purposes. Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club cannot prevent this, as the banks and area surrounding the lake are open to the public.
Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club is affiliated to British rowing therefore follows the following policies and procedures:
